Jacob’s Progress

Summer 2021

Gaysha continues to support professional golfer Jacob Hassan – we contacted Jacob to ask how he has been getting on since returning to competing after the various lockdowns.

Here’s what he had to say:

“Since the return of golf in March, I have played various events on the Clutch Pro Tour, continuing my quest to return to the Challenge Tour and then beyond. Results have not been going the way I would like, however, there have been many signs in these early events that better days are not too far away.

I have a run of events in June that sees me compete in Northern Ireland, Scotland and on the Kent coast at Princes Golf Club in the Open Qualifying Series.

A month of competitive golf I am very much excited for.I look forward to keeping you posted with the results.”

Summer 2020

Huge congratulations to Jacob Hassan, the professional golfer that Gaysha sponsors, with his first professional victory at the Clutch Pro Tour last week. He now qualifies for the European Challenge Tour in Northern Ireland in September.

We have been sponsoring Jacob for the last 3 years, part of our commitment to invest in the younger generation in both business and sport.

Spring 2019

Gaysha is continuing in 2019 to support and sponsor Bex-ley based professional golfer Jacob Hassan.

After a disappointing performance in the 2018 EuroPro Qualifying School, Jacob decided to start preparation early this year by entering the Portugal Pro Golf Tour. During a 3 week stay in Portugal he competed in 6 differ-ent events and enjoyed his two best results as a profes-sional so far.

In his penultimate event he posted 2 under par rounds, placing him in the t op 15. In the final event he shot his low-est round as a professional, coming 5 under par on a very windy day and placing him in the top 5!

Following this fantastic performance, Jacob was feeling very confident and ready to attack the EuroPro Tour Qualifying in April. He managed to get through the first stage of qualifying at Caversham Heath GC and moved on to Frilford Heathfor the final stage, unfortunately missing the cut for qualifi-cation by just three shots!

Jacob was understandably very disappointed at not fully qualifying, but he has still qualified to play in some events on the EuroPro Tour, so is hoping to make the most of the opportunity to take part in these.Jacob will be visiting the office soon if you would like to meet him.

We will keep you updated on Jacobs progress throughout the rest of the year.

Jamega Tour - July '18

Scores: 73(+1) & 69(-3)

Jacob says “This is my best finish as a professional to date, as I ended in a tie for 7th place at The Wychwood Park Golf Club in the Cotswolds. The aspect of my performance I am most pleased about was my mindset and attitude throughout. I have gained so much experience in such a short space of time, and have had to work to overcome a number of setbacks in my early professional career.”

“This could not be done without the support of all those at Gaysha, as well as my fantastic team of coaches. The next step for us all is to win, and continue our journey towards the European Tour.”

Tournament Scores

Open Qualifying Series - June '18

Scores: 71(-1)

Jacob says “Another very solid performance was to follow in the Open Qualifying Series, as I set my sights on attempting to become one of 12 players to qualify via this route. I began the journey at Wildernesse Golf Club where I managed to qualify with an under par score.”

“The journey continued to Hollinwell Golf Club, Nottingham, where crowds had amassed to watch some of the best golfers throughout the country. This was the biggest event I had competed in thus far, and with scores of 79(+7) & 80(+8) around a very difficult course, I could only come away gaining experience and motivation to work harder, as opposed to a spot in the prestigious British Open.”

Scottish Hydro Q (TP Tour) - June '18

Score: 72(E)

Jacob says “A stunning venue in the Cairngorms National Park, just south of Inverness. On the course(Spey Valley Golf Club), I was beginning to find my feet as a professional golfer! The progress I had made with my game over the last few weeks began to show, as I finished only 2 shots shy of a qualifying spot for the Challenge Tour event, SSE Scottish Hydro Challenge.”

TP Tour + Jamega Tour - May '18

Scores: 76(+4)

75(+5) & 73(+3)

69(-3) & 77(+5)

Jacob says “It was evident to me that my game needed to massively improve if I were to begin competing at a higher level. Therefore, I made a number of changes to my team, recruiting three very committed and hungry specialists to help me develop my game. I now have on board:

  • Jay Kelly (Redlibbets Golf Club)
  • Simon Iliffe (West Kent Golf Club)
  • Nick Buchan (Body Clinic, Ash)”.

Jamega Tour - April '18

Scores: 74(+3) & 78(+7)

Jacob says “Another unsatisfactory result at Maxstoke Park Golf Club in Birmingham. In wet and wild conditions, I simply struggled to gain momentum, finishing on a similar score to my previous competition.”

Europro Tour Q-School - March '18

Scores: 84(+11) & 74(+1)

Jacob says “An anxious start to my professional career at Caversham Heath Golf Club in Reading. An unsatisfactory performance here, resulted in the failure to attain my EuroPro Tour Card for the 2018 season. This impacted my schedule quite dramatically.”
