Gaysha recently had the privilege of completing the exterior redecoration of the stunning Grade I listed 1 Bedford Square, for a fantastic client. Originally designed by architect Thomas Leverton, for tobacco merchant Sir Lionel Lyde and completed in 1782, this historic building, described as “one of the great terraced houses of Georgian London”, is now home to Cameron Mackintosh Ltd.

Our work included a roof renewal, expert stone/brick cleaning and repairs, and meticulous redecoration of all windows, doors, masonry, and metalwork. To create a more uniform appearance to the brickwork, we applied a soot wash to restore the iconic front façade of the building.

One of the nicest aspects of Gaysha’s work is being able to bring a new lease of life to London’s heritage buildings, and it was a pleasure to do so for such a cherished Bloomsbury landmark.
